Peterdown United’s Chapel Stadium is a fairly obvious homage to the Abbey as it was back then and still largely is now. As a way of celebrating these roots, I gave twelve of the characters in Peterdown the same surnames as my all-time favourite Cambridge United first XI (plus the manager). Joe Mottershead got closest and so he won the Steve Spriggs bookplate.
